Last Sunday, the LX Portal community gathered in the beautiful Tapada das Necessidades for something special: puppy yoga, rescued dogs, sunshine, and the opportunity to make a real difference for animals in need.
Our Yoga for Paws event was a huge success — and we couldn't be more grateful to everyone who showed up to move, donate, and help.
A morning of puppy yoga and cuddles
We kicked off the morning with an outdoor yoga class in the heart of Tapada das Necessidades — a gorgeous space that felt perfect for the occasion. Our puppy yoga Lisbon experience was designed to bring together two things people love: moving their bodies and the joy of spending time with dogs. The energy was beautiful. People came ready to practice, to support a cause, and to connect as a community.
But the best part? After class, we had adoptable puppies and dogs from União Zoófila on-site. This is what makes our puppy yoga events so special — combining wellness with animal rescue. What followed was pure joy. Attendees spent time giving pets, cuddles, and endless love to the dogs and puppies who deserve homes. You could see the connections forming — people laughing, dogs wagging their tails, everyone just present and happy together.
Meeting União Zoófila and understanding their mission
Representatives from União Zoófila were there to share their incredible work. They're currently caring for over 400 dogs and 200 cats at their shelter — all searching for loving homes.
More importantly, they shared something often overlooked: the importance of being mindful before getting a pet. It's not just about bringing an animal home. It's about commitment, time, resources, and genuine care. Listening to them speak about the animals they rescue — and the responsibility that comes with adoption — was a powerful reminder.
The community showed up
We were overwhelmed by the generosity. Beyond the donations from the pay-what-you-can class, many attendees gave extra contributions. Several people signed up to volunteer. Others committed to fostering — opening their homes to animals who need a safe space while waiting for permanent families.
This is what community looks like. People coming together, not just for fitness, but to make a real difference.
